Event Details

The GreenUtica Garden Tour, presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, is Saturday, August 10 from 10am to 3pm. The tour, which is in its fourth year, is a free, self-guided walking/driving tour of approximately 70 home gardens in Utica.

How can you participate in the GreenUtica Garden Tour?

Show Off Your Garden-Be on the Tour

If you have a home in Utica with a flower garden, vegetable garden, container garden or notable trees/landscaping, contact us to be on the tour. Gardeners open their yards to tour goers to let them peruse their front, side and back yard gardens. Many of the gardeners even enjoy sharing information about plant selection and tips with tour goers. Contact gpearce@greenutica.org for more information or call 315-790-5262 to discuss adding your garden to the tour. Deadline to register your garden is Friday, July 26.

Take the Tour

To take the tour, pick up a map at the GreenUtica office at 1641 Genesee Street on August 10th. Tour hours are from 10 am to 3 pm. The map will show garden locations by neighborhood and will designate if they are flower, vegetable, or container garden or notable trees/landscaping. Tour goers can customize their experience to the types of gardens that interest them the most. The homes on the tour will have lawn signs. Most tour goers drive to their neighborhood of choice, walk that neighborhood, then drive to the next location.

Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will be available during registration at GreenUtica to answer gardening questions and to share information about tick awareness.

This year, there are gardens on the tour in North Utica, Downtown, East Utica, South Utica and West Utica.
